About Us

Our Vision: Every child grows up free to create the future they want for themselves and their communities.

For 30 years, KIPP NYC has partnered with families to prepare students for success in college, career, and beyond. Our free public charter schools in the Bronx, Brooklyn, and Manhattan combine rigorous academics, character development, and personalized support so every student has the opportunity to make an impact in their community and the world at large.

Diversity, equity, and inclusion is the thread that ties together the vision and mission of the STEM work at KIPP NYC. We approach this with four themes: (1) self-awareness and affirmation of identity/culture; (2) literacy in science is liberation; (3) science is for all students; and (4) family & community engagement.

We Believe in Investing in STEM

The KIPP Computational Thinking Project is made up of educators in KIPP Schools and beyond who are devoted to creating a free, open-source K-8 curriculum. Its development has been funded through the nonprofit Robinhood Foundation, and its curriculum has been implemented in hundreds of classrooms in KIPP NYC Public Schools and other public school districts across the country. Elevating New Yorkers Out of Poverty

Robin Hood elevates New Yorkers out of poverty by funding, supporting, and connecting high-impact community organizations, partnering with government, and advocating for what works so that New York City can be an engine of upward mobility for all.
